Biography
新津由衣(Yui Neats)は、日本を拠点とするアーティスト。
音楽・詩・空間を繊細に織り合わせ、感情に深く触れるような没入型の音楽表現を追求している。かつて「Neat’s」名義でも活動し、サウンドの美学と映像による物語性の両軸を大切にしながら、従来のソングライティングの枠を超え、空間芸術としてのライブ体験へと進化を遂げている。
独自のライブ形式「ワイヤレスヘッドフォンライブ」を展開しており、客席とステージの境界線がない空間を自由に歩きながら、ヘッドフォンを通して光と音が交差する“インスタレーションとしての音楽体験”をつくり出している。
その表現の核にあるのが、自身が創り出した「Neatsphonic（ニーツフォニック）」という架空の音楽言語。“言葉にならない言葉”は、言語を超えて聴く人の内側へと語りかける。
「Neatsphonic」の由来には、自身の名前（新津／Neats）と、NASAの小惑星探査プロジェクト「NEAT」に着想を得ている。
2025年、40歳という節目を迎えるにあたり、北欧・デンマークでの初海外公演を開催。AIを駆使して現地のクリエイターを集めてDIYでワイヤレスヘッドフォンライブを成功させ、大きな反響を呼んだ。
※2003年にはシンガーソングライターユニット「RYTHEM（リズム）」としてメジャーデビュー。数々のアニメやテレビ番組のテーマ曲を手がけるなどのキャリアを持つ。新津由衣としてコンセプチュアルかつ没入的な表現を軸に、国内外に向けアーティスト活動の幅を広げている。
Yui Neats is a Japan-based artist creating immersive experiences through the fusion of music, poetry, light, and space.
Formerly active under the name “Neat’s,” she has continuously expanded her artistic approach beyond conventional songwriting, exploring live performance as a form of spatial and emotional art. Her work places equal importance on sound aesthetics, visual storytelling, and the emotional atmosphere shared between audience and performer.
Wireless Headphone Live
Yui Neats is known for her original performance style, the “Wireless Headphone Live.”
In these performances, there is no fixed boundary between stage and audience. Listeners freely walk through the space wearing wireless headphones, experiencing an intimate world where music, light, silence, and movement blend together.
Rather than a traditional concert, the experience unfolds like a living sound installation — an immersive environment designed to evoke deep emotional connection.
Neatsphonic — An Imaginary Musical Language
At the center of her artistic universe is “Neatsphonic,” an original fictional musical language she created herself.
These “words beyond words” are not meant to communicate literal meaning, but to reach listeners on a more instinctive and emotional level beyond language and nationality.
The name “Neatsphonic” combines her own name, “Neats,” with inspiration from NASA’s asteroid exploration project “NEAT.”
International Activities
In 2025, as she entered her 40th year, Yui Neats held her first overseas performance in Denmark.
Using AI-based networking and collaboration tools, she independently gathered local creators and successfully produced a DIY Wireless Headphone Live performance, which received strong audience response and international attention.
Background
In 2003, she made her major debut as a member of the singer-songwriter duo RYTHEM, known for creating theme songs for numerous anime series and television programs.
Today, as Yui Neats, she continues to expand her artistic practice internationally through conceptual, immersive, and emotionally driven forms of expression.
